Here are a few...
...atheist composers of the classical and romantic eras.
Beethoven, Berlioz, Bizet, Brahms, Debussy, Mozart, Paganini, Schubert, Schumann, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Wagner and Verdi.
There are, of course many more, but these are the ones I have found recently by searching the web. My favourites in the list are: Beethoven, Debussy, Strauss (Richard, not the waltz guy) and Verdi.

Hooray for me! Two celebrity atheist comedians spotted in less than 24 hours!

Another Atheist Comedian
Dara O'Briain, Irish comedian and TV host is an atheist. Not surprising really given the gentle ribbing he always seems to give religion and the religious. If I may quote him from The Word, April 2006:
"I’m staunchly atheist, I simply don’t believe in God. But I’m still Catholic, of course. Catholicism has a much broader reach than just the religion. I’m ethnically Catholic, it’s the box you have to tick on the census form: ‘Don’t believe in God, but I do still hate Rangers.’ The fact is that it’s a shared hinterland between me and every other Irish person, a collection of references that we all understand, stories we all know, our opinions about William of Orange, everything. It plunges you into a particular side of every debate, it’s like a huge club you can’t ever leave. I’m definitely a Catholic, and nobody could possibly believe in God less than I do."

I'm on!
After several emails and phone calls, I have been invited to the recording of the TV show (see below). I'll try and construct a few of the most difficult questions I can for the 'psychics' on the show, and get my own defences up to scratch.
I'll get to meet the host of the show, Vanessa too. The show is being produced by the same company that do 'Big Brother'. I suspect the completed show will be akin to something between Question Time and Jerry Springer. The show will be broadcast on ITV as part of their morning schedule.

Do it, or not?
Dear Martin,
I have just come across your website whilst doing some research and was really grabbed by it!
I am working on a new ITV chat show which revolves around people telling their own extraordinary real life stories. We are covering a lot of different issues in different segments of the show, and one of them is called "I speak to the dead". For this topic we have several different guests coming on to talk about their experiences in being psychic and being able to communicate with spirits.
As the bulk of the programme is discussion based, we are looking for some people to come on who are healthy sceptical about things of this nature. I was wondering whether you might have any views on this? And whether your atheism included rejecting things of this nature?
I would really love to discuss this with you. I'm sure you will agree that if all the guests believe in communication with the dead then the programme will look very one-sided!
Please do give me a call on the number below, or email me a number that I can contact you on. I look forward to hearing from you,

How to stop muslims...
...using commercial aircraft as airborne weapons.
As a precursor to the 2006 World Cup in Germany, the British authorities stopped suspected football hooligans from going to the event. This they did by confiscating their passports, and restricting movement to their local area -- thus preventing the possibility of them doing any damage on the European mainland. Note they were banned from travelling abroad whether they had legitimate reasons or not. And I bet not one of them had the intention of exploding a bomb on the aircraft they would have used to reach their destination.
Currently, the main terrorist threat to the UK stems from within the muslim community (as was demonstrated on 7/7 and today). And like it or not, even though most muslims are not terrorists, most terrorists -- at this moment in time -- are muslims.
Therefore the answer to the current situation is simple. And it really couldn't be simpler: ban all muslims from travelling in or out of our country by plane. If we can do it to thousands of football fans we can do it to muslims as well. I would however grant an exception to this proposal, that of permanent departure from our shores by those muslims who don't like living here. The quicker the better.
Religion of peace my arse.
