How to stop muslims...
...using commercial aircraft as airborne weapons.
As a precursor to the 2006 World Cup in Germany, the British authorities stopped suspected football hooligans from going to the event. This they did by confiscating their passports, and restricting movement to their local area -- thus preventing the possibility of them doing any damage on the European mainland. Note they were banned from travelling abroad whether they had legitimate reasons or not. And I bet not one of them had the intention of exploding a bomb on the aircraft they would have used to reach their destination.
Currently, the main terrorist threat to the UK stems from within the muslim community (as was demonstrated on 7/7 and today). And like it or not, even though most muslims are not terrorists, most terrorists -- at this moment in time -- are muslims.
Therefore the answer to the current situation is simple. And it really couldn't be simpler: ban all muslims from travelling in or out of our country by plane. If we can do it to thousands of football fans we can do it to muslims as well. I would however grant an exception to this proposal, that of permanent departure from our shores by those muslims who don't like living here. The quicker the better.
